Friday (and all the days) I do these things:

1. Let out the dog

2. Let in the dog

3. Medicate self and dog

4. Let out the cat

5. Let out the cat

6. Let out the cat (3 cats now out)

7. Let in the cat (2 out)

8. Let in the cat (this is tricky…you might think there is only one cat left outside but when I let in this last cat the one that had just come in launched itself over the one that was already in. (2 out)

9. Find a space away from the cats to pretend I can’t hear the ringing bell, scratching paws, meowing or the GOD DAMN BUTTON that the dog uses but the one intelligent cat now uses constantly. So constantly that he keeps his paw on it and lies down.

   

   I did not pose this shot. Obviously because that is one intelligent cat.

10. Open the computer to write. Astute readers saw that the sentence was open the computer TO write, not open the computer AND write. Now it gets to the Friday part.

On Fridays I write about neurodiversity and mental health. Sometimes I will tell pieces of my own story. Other times I will tell yours. Go ahead and fill out my insightful questionnaire to be part of this project.

15. Pack a too small tote (with laptop and charger, Remarkable and charger, ear pods and charger, banana and charger.) There will be a tail of charger dangling out the side. One cat will bat at it. Not the intelligent cat. The only tail he cares about is his own.

16. Drive to the Lighthouse. Marvel at the city Mountain view in City Park. Look over to my son’s highschool and hope no one will get shot.

17. Arrive at Lighthouse. Look at sticky muffins in plastic cages.

18. Unpack chargers. And banana which has browned tremendously in the very short drive. How? Why? Science? (I will now look for the nature/nurture banana photo so we can all feel amazed. Did’t think we were going to settle the nature/nurture debate this morning did you?)

20. Wish Friday wasn’t the Mental Health blog post day.

Fridays are forward-looking. Writing about mental health can be forward looking. Also it can be inward looking. I don’t want to take a deep dive intro depression on Fridays. It is within my power as founder of the blog to decide that Fridays are not going to be days that I “make” myself write about mental health. They are going to be free Fridays. I can write whatever I want. Like a 20 point list.
