I love this piece, Anna. Really great! Solving for X is always good fun.

Well, the age thing probably depends too on aging. Twenty years is a different experience and raises different problems at 25/45 than at 75/95.

Are you implying that the made up equation doesn't work in every circumstance?

Half age plus seven years... I have a friend that actually has that as a tattoo. (He married a younger woman. I'm not really sure why he got the tattoo.) Unpacking bags after a trip- for me it happens almost immediately unless you're supposed to leave your bags outside (when I lived in VT) to kill all the bugs. I don't have any exact math, but it takes me a really long time to pack (days), because I travel light, and like camping, if you want to do it right it takes a really long time deciding what NOT to bring. Longer trip = longer time to pack. I have a long list of things to pack, even though most are small, lightweight things. (Pen for forms like immigration or whatever, ezpass for car rental, foam ear plugs e.g.). But then there's also updating offline maps, podcasts, etc. Charging things... kindle, headphones. Prepping the house. And tying into the meds post- it takes a considerable amount of time to get all the meds and supplements correct. I still mess up and wonder how I came up three days short on one of my meds. Vector calculus? No problem. Counting to fifteen? Hard.

Was I supposed to leave my bags outside? Oh the med prep...I don't seem to be able to count pills correctly. Or maybe some just leave the bottles on the flight!
