I really like the idea of emotional flowers. The sports community (which evidently I now speak for) has begun using the phrase "give them their flowers" by which they mean kudos. I like the idea that we all have flowers..
Well. That's a punch to the gut. Like everyone else, I was thinking he was buying flowers for his girlfriend. Until I read that sentence. So sorry that happened to your son's friend. I hope your son is healing. And I hope justice was served for his friend. One of the kajillion reasons I'm glad I never had children when I was married. Because I'd be worried about incidents like this.
Heartbreaking but sadly true in far too many teenaged (and younger) lives in this country. And you are right it IS political. The saddest thing my sons felt and it was heart crushing…. A friend committed suicide. It stayed with them well it is STILL with them. Yet now too many children have felt gun violence. Thank you for the reminder of why it must STOP…..
