I loved this read! And thank you for your take on "Honestly" and "To be honest". I try not to use those words or "In all honesty" because I find myself thinking "are you usually not honest".
I do have a very good friend who uses "In all honesty" all the time, and will use it several times in a single conversation, it is maddening. And now her children use it too. Agh!
And while we have this list, can we add "In my estimation" this is often in place of "In my opinion" often by the folks in Boston Sports Radio. (at first by Boomer Esiason but now it seems like everyone). It is like chalk on a blackboard for me...you are not estimating the cost of anything, or even the final score of a game, no, you are giving your opinion on what Bill Belichick may or may not be thinking....Ugh...I am done now...
Mornings can be tough. Glad you liked it!
Laugh aloud! The bit that uses them all is hysterical! To use a douche phrase: you hit the nail on the head.

Neesh -- And I am definitely over 30 :-).
I loved this. Read it twice. Made my morning! And I can tell you, that's a hard thing to do these days.
Awww. I hope Sophie is doing not terribly badly.
Nitch, and I'm well over 30!
And speaking of nitch, how about tackling like vs. as. For decades, I've been irritated by the old ad: "Winston Takes Good Like a Cigarette Should."
Sounds like you should get to writing!
I think of it as Neesh but I wonder what I say out loud? I think I may use both but when? And why? Interesting.
I say Nitch.
Neesh. Always. I am 51.
From our sample size of three I am thinking my kids are wrong. And I will let them know!
